We have heard 100s of inspiration stories about how women finished their college degrees and how these degrees have changed their lives. Interview 3: Adonica Ihilani Kauwe Limón

Adonica Limon felt lost when she considered the barriers to a college education. As a single parent of three boys, she was challenged by financial issues, day care and demands on her time to work and go to school. She attributes her success to hundreds of people – from teachers and advisors to those who contributed to the scholarships she received. Now educated “in the heart’ as well as the mind, Adonica plans to give back to her community.

After twelve years of marriage, Eva Bernfeld found herself “penniless” with five children between the ages of 3 and 10. She knew that her daydream of a college education had to become a reality. Eva learned to “put the pride aside” and ask for help along the way, using her children for help and encouragement. “We took the journey together.”

They only ask if you have finished.”
